The code would not work on this Screwfix digital safe and the override keys had been lost. We attended the job in St Helens, Merseyside and picked the override lock to open the safe. We replaced the lock and provided a new set of keys as well as a fresh set of batteries.
This Rottner Comsafe Monaco safe would not open despite the customer having a working key. We made the trip up to Cleveleys in Lancashire and identified the issue as a disconnected bolt which we were able to resolve and opened it without any damage. Having reconnected the boltwork we put the safe back into service for another very happy customer.
A bar in Liverpool One had used the wrong keys in each lock of this Chubb Europa safe and having tried to force the locks open the keys had become mangled and snapped off deep inside the locks. Two companies had already attended the job prior to them calling us and despite charging for their time they had only managed to add to the problem by filling the keyway with blu-tack (The mind boggles). After a lengthy battle we were able to remove all of the broken bits of keys and proceeded to pick the locks open as no spares were available. Having opened the safe with zero damage to it we changed the locks and provided new sets of keys.
When a key holder from a business in Skelmersdale, Lancashire had a set of keys stolen from a motor vehicle they called us to change the lock on this Phoenix Castille 6 Series Safe.
The key had been stolen during a robbery for this Birmingham Safe Co Ltd Burnside Book Safe at a club in Ashton-under-Lyne. We were called to change the lock so that the stolen key would no longer work and to provide a new set of keys.
The plaque on the safe reads: “Book Safe British Burnside Regd No 431976 Birmingham Safe Co Ltd Founded 1880 Birmingham. England”
We were called to a club in Chorley as they could not open their Dominator Under Floor Safe despite having the key. We determined that the safe had failed mechanically and proceeded to open it for them. Once opened we repaired and serviced the safe lid to put it back into action.
We were called to a hotel chain in Glossop, Derbyshire as the key was stuck in this Dudley Harlech safe. We found that the boltwork had worked itself loose and required some minor repairs. This sort of job highlights that safes require regular servicing just like anything else mechanical. You wouldn’t dream of of running your car without regular maintenance and yet most people notice that something is not quite right with their safe but leave it until it finally fails before getting it seen to. This usually coincides with some important event that requires immediate access to the safe and often the replacement of parts that would not have broken if tended to sooner. The proverb ‘A stitch in time saves nine’ is very much true, if you notice a problem with your safe then call us out sooner rather than later.
We were called to this Chubb Leamington safe at a college in Ashton-under-Lyne as the door would not open despite the handle being in the open position. The problem we discovered was that one of the opening edge bolts had disconnected from the boltwork and therefore could not be retracted by the handle. We dealt with the problem to open the door and repaired the bolt so that the safe could be used again.

The key would no longer work in this Fort Knox Exchequer under floor safe in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. We decided to bring it back to the workshop for an overhaul. With a replacement lock, a service and two new keys she’s good to go again.
This is the second time we’ve worked on this Milners’ door in the past six months. This time a set of keys had been stolen from the pub in Southport and they required the lock to be changed. We rekeyed the lock for them and provided new keys to prevent the old ones from working.
